Students Thrive. Families Connect. Communities Grow.
Palmetto Pathways Academy is a free public charter school committed to igniting the brilliance in every young person. Through our connected network of regional learning communities across South Carolina, PPA serves learners in grades 6–12, empowering them to expand their horizons, chart their course, and step confidently into the world.
We aim to uplift, inspire, and support learners as they gain the knowledge, skills, and attributes that will ensure their success and positive contributions both now and in the future.
At PPA, we understand learning doesn’t only happen in school and real-world knowledge and skills are best acquired in the real world. That’s why we’ve created South Carolina’s first learner centered ecosystem – a school without walls that partners with the community to connect young people to learning experiences that align with their interests and their own visions for their futures. PPA is proud to partner with two pioneers of Learner-Centered education – Big Picture Learning® and Education Reimagined.®

Learners gain real-world experience in the real world through work-based learning in career fields of their choosing and through community-embedded experiences that align with their passions.

Learners complete online coursework, collaborate with peers in live classes, and attend online and in-person academic support and enrichment.

Learners stay connected through regular meetings with their advisory groups and through peer collaboration, projects, and community service that take place in our regional learning hubs.

Students will leave Palmetto Pathways Academy with a solid academic foundation, workforce
experience, strong collaboration skills, adeptness in the responsible use of emerging technology, confidence in their abilities and next steps, and ready to take on the world.

Classes begin for students in grades 6-8 in August 2026.
