The work of Palmetto Pathways Academy has evolved into ELEVATE Carolina, a nonprofit organization advancing community-powered learning across South Carolina. What began as a vision for a new kind of school has grown into a broader vision for connecting young people with their communities, local schools, families, employers, and other partners to create meaningful and deep learning opportunities beyond school walls.
We’re excited to continue this work through the three initiatives of ELEVATE Carolina – ELEVATE Studios, ELEVATE XChange, and ELEVATE Schools, and we invite you to follow along as we begin this next chapter!
At Palmetto Pathways Academy (PPA), learning unfolds through authentic experiences across multiple settings. PPA is a proud partner with two nationally recognized leaders of Learner-Centered education – Big Picture Learning® and Education Reimagined.®
Learners gain real-world experience in career fields of their choosing and through community-embedded experiences that align with their interests.
Learning is anchored in-person in regional learning hubs and is blended with learning in the real world and with remote learning on digital platforms.
Learners stay connected through regular meetings with their advisory groups and through peer collaboration on projects and community service that takes place in our regional learning hubs.
Learners will leave Palmetto Pathways Academy with a solid academic foundation, workforce
experience, strong collaboration skills, adeptness in the responsible use of emerging technology, confidence in their abilities and next steps, and ready to take on the world.
Through partnerships with individuals, organizations, and industries in communities across South Carolina, we connect learners to experiences that support deep learning, skill development, exploration, and future planning.
