Doris Chaplin, Member

Doris Chaplin is a former nursing professor for Midlands Technical College (MTC). During her time at MTC, she developed the first associate degree nursing (ADN) program designed to prepare students for more advanced educational pursuits in nursing, including Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees. In designing the program, Doris collaborated across multiple institutions in South Carolina to ensure the program prepared graduates who were qualified to pursue advanced coursework. Key to the program’s success was the design and organization of the RN to BSN Career Advancement Expo, which, under Doris’s leadership, was awarded a $10,000 grant, providing graduating nursing students with the opportunity to pay for courses towards their Bachelor of Science in nursing degree (BSN). In addition to her higher education teaching experience, Doris also brings experience in program design, planning, and logistics.
